Overview

Male infertility refers to reproductive issues that prevent natural conception with a fertile partner. It accounts for roughly one-fifth of infertility cases on its own and contributes to about half of all cases when combined with female factors — yet male evaluation is often overlooked.

At Joshi's Centre, we begin with a detailed history, physical examination, and WHO-standard semen analysis assessing sperm count, motility and morphology. When standard results don't tell the full story, we move to advanced testing — DNA fragmentation, hormonal profiling, and scrotal ultrasound — and then to medical, surgical, or assisted reproduction options as indicated.

Inability to conceive after 12 months of unprotected intercourse
Low semen volume or abnormal ejaculation
Pain, swelling, or lump in the testicular area

Hormonal symptoms — low libido, fatigue, gynecomastia

Frequently Asked Questions

When should we see a specialist?
If you've been trying to conceive for 12 months without success (6 months if the partner is over 35), both partners should be evaluated.
Is male infertility treatable?
Many causes are treatable — varicocele, hormonal issues, infections, and obstructive azoospermia can often be corrected. Even severe cases can benefit from sperm retrieval and ICSI.
Do I need surgery?
Not always. We start with the least invasive approach and only recommend surgery when it offers the best chance of success.
